The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer for Harvard Law School, responsible for setting and implementing strategic priorities; promoting excellence in teaching and research; supporting faculty, students, and staff; and fostering a collegial and inclusive community that is diverse along multiple dimensions.

We seek an accomplished and innovative leader to continue Harvard Law School’s tradition of academic excellence and leadership in the legal field and to guide the institution into the future. Candidates should exhibit a distinguished record of academic achievement and scholarship that would support a tenured appointment at Harvard University; have proven administrative leadership experience within an academic or related environment; possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders; and demonstrate a commitment to nurturing a sense of belonging for the entire community.
