Workshop for Faculty Appointments Candidates

FRC begins with a workshop about the academic hiring process that is open to all interested candidates.

Seeking a job as a faculty member is akin to taking a law school exam: adequate preparation is imperative. As with a law school exam, you should know the format of the interview, what questions are going to be asked, and how to respond appropriately to those queries. AALS provides you two tools to help you prepare: audio from a prior Faculty Appointments Candidates Workshop and an invitation to this year’s Workshop to be held Thursday, October 3, 3:30 – 5:15 pm. The past Workshop provides invaluable information that candidates can use far in advance of the actual hiring conference. As to the upcoming Workshop, AALS strongly encourages schools to avoid interviewing during the Workshop so that candidates can attend.
