New York Bar Exam scores from February 2019

ABA JOURNAL — The data is for graduates of ABA-accredited law schools, according to a press release. The percentage is substantially the same as for 2015 law grads, who had an 88.49% bar pass rate within two years.

An analysis of law school bar pass rates

LAW.COM — Law.com analyzed the bar pass rates reported by schools to the American Bar Association between 2013 and 2017 and found that 42 out of 203 ABA-accredited law schools saw their pass rate fall anywhere from 10 to 20 percent. Thirty-five schools had pass-rate declines of more than 20 percent in those four years.

February Multistate Bar Exam pass rate up after five years of decline

LAW.COM — The national average score on the Multistate Bar Exam increased by 1.2 points to 134 for the February 2019 test, according to the National Conference of Bar Examiners. That represents the first increase in the mean February MBE score since 2013, which was followed by a five-year slide in bar exam pass rates.

ABA council to take up stronger bar pass standard for law schools again in May 2019

AZ CENTRAL — The American Bar Association Council is set to take up a proposal in May that would require law schools to have 75 percent of their graduates who take the bar exam pass it within two years.
