The AALS Nominating Committee for 2020 Officers and Members of the Executive Committee met in September to consider nominations from faculty members and deans at AALS member schools. At the Meeting of the House of Representatives at the AALS Annual Meeting in Washington, DC on Saturday, January 4, 2020, the Committee will present three nominees to the House.
AALS has launched a few new services to assist faculty in following the latest ideas in legal education including a listing of faculty books, a weekly digest of blog postings, and a calendar of symposia at law schools across the country.

The Section on Family and Juvenile Law promotes the development and exchange of information relating to teaching and research in the fields of family and juvenile law and promotes collaborative action among those individuals having an interest in these fields. AALS caught up with the leaders of the section to learn about the section and its activities.
The Section on Environmental Law and Section on Legal Writing, Reasoning and Research were named AALS Sections of the Year. The annual award recognizes excellence in legal education through members activities and support that promotes the association’s core values.
The recently released issue 68-2 of the Journal of Legal Education focuses on the latest innovations and findings in legal pedagogy. This first issue edited by American University Washington College of Law also explores what legal education can learn from other disciplines.
