The Association of American Law Schools (AALS), a 501(c)(3) higher education association, represents 175 American law schools and is located in downtown Washington, DC. AALS seeks 1 undergraduate or graduate student to work approximately 20–25 hours per week providing help at our Dupont Circle headquarters office. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, self-motivated, reliable, a great writer and willing to roll up his/her sleeves to help with any project or task assigned. Position requires significant use of Microsoft Office and WordPress.

Position Summary
The Student Assistant provides support to the Technology team, who supports all areas of the organization. The student works closely with staff on a variety of projects including assisting in meeting coordination tasks, and the creation of various digital publications, online forms, and maintaining the AALS website.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Update HTML and CSS on AALS websites in collaboration with the AALS web team.
- Respond to and troubleshoot website issues.
- Run scheduled site analytics using Google Analytics.
- Assist AALS staff with ongoing projects as needed, including data entry.
- Support meeting staff on a variety of projects related to the AALS website, microsites, and events including call for proposals, among other tasks.
- Support the creation of various events digital publications, online forms, and maintaining the AALS event websites.
- Assists all staff with administrative projects as needed, including data entry.
- Serves as a member of the Office Support team and greets visitors at the front desk, directing visitors to the appropriate party.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required
(Minimum education and experience needed to perform the job adequately)
- Must be current college student either undergrad student or graduate student pursuing degree in technology, communications, computer science, library science, or related fields.
- Related work or school experience not required but preferred: Website management, CSS and HTML, demonstrated knowledge and use of computer applications, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Problem-solving capability necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position.
- Team-oriented attitude and ability to contribute to design- and functionality-related decisions.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, reliable, and willing to roll up their sleeves to help with projects or tasks assigned.
