When are These Workshops?
The Workshop for Beginning Clinical Law School Teachers will be held June 20-21, 2012 and begins on the evening of Wednesday, June 20 with a plenary session at 7:00 pm followed by a coffee and dessert reception. The next day will include plenary sessions, concurrent sessions and small group discussions. The workshop will conclude at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 21.
The Workshop for New Law School Teachers will be held June 21-23, 2012 and will begin on Thursday, June 21, with registrants meeting in small group discussions at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Opening Dinner at 7:30 pm. The Opening Dinner speaker will be Dean Kevin R. Johnson, University of California, Davis School of Law. The next two days will include plenary sessions and small group discussions. The planning committee encourages registrants to attend the first small group discussions on Thursday evening. The workshop will conclude at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23. The AALS Sections on Minority Groups and Women in Legal Education will host continental breakfasts, and the AALS Section on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Issues will host an informal evening gathering during the workshop.
The Workshop for Pretenured People of Color Law School Teachers will be held June 23-24, 2012 and will begin on Saturday, June 23, with an Informal Barbeque at 6:30 pm hosted by and held at Georgetown University Law Center. The next day will include plenary and concurrent sessions. The workshop will conclude at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 24.
Where are These Workshops?
The Mayflower Renaissance Hotel was selected as the host hotel for workshop sessions and sleeping rooms and is located at 1127 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC. Single/Double occupancy is $239 per night plus 14.5% sales tax. Children staying in the same room with their parent(s) are free of charge. There is an additional charge of $20 per person for more than two adults sharing a room. Online hotel reservations will be available in February.
